The first seedlings

Carefully planted vegetables in the beds of our women              from self-help groups in the south and north of the country are gaining strength. Farmers know the surest remedy against the “unexpected surprises” of nature – work done on the field on time – will provide family vitamins and reward for their effort.

Due to the pandemic and measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, farmers from the self-help groups of the Issyk-Kul and Chui oblasts of the Agricultural Productivity and Nutrition Improvement Project (APNIP) are mastering the agricultural technology of growing vegetables using video lessons prepared by trainers – consultants of the PF TAIC – project partner.

Participants of the 3-year project on their personal plots practice the acquired knowledge of the care and processing of vegetables.

And very soon the first tomatoes and crispy cucumbers will appear on these beds.
