The third spring of the APNIP project

The coordinators of the PF AIR managed to distribute seeds in time among the members of the SHG 3-stream of the APNIP project in oblasts of the republic before the announcement of the state of emergency.

All project participants have been warned about the need to comply with the requirements for self-isolation, observance of curfews in the appropriate areas. Thanks to the basic technical means of communication, we are in constant communication with all oblasts and villages of all streams of the project.

Many farmers of the third stream of 2020 have planted the seeds received from the APNIP, and there are already the first seedlings in the south. All work to strengthen the newly mobilized self-help groups is carried out online, the work on social mobilization and support of SHGs is carried out remotely. Training companies PF TAIC and RAS Jalal Abad are working on video releases of training modules. Agronomists consultants answer practical questions over the phone.

We were especially pleased with the 2-stream of the SHG of the Naryn oblast, created under the APNIP in 2019. The farmers independently continued their mutual assistance activities and, with the support of the PF AIR, an organization for the social mobilization of the subcomponent, purchased seeds for forage crops: sainfoin, alfalfa, and vegetables.

Despite some difficulties in delivery, due to the introduced state of emergency, 238 farmers purchased a total of 14,410 kg of fodder seeds for a total amount of nearly 1,300,000 soms, as well as vegetables for 49,000 soms.

In 2020,  2-stream of SHG, for the second year of participation in the project, will receive resource support from the project in the form of small-sized equipment, which is purchased at the request of the SHG members themselves.
