The Word Bank team will hold the Fourth Implementation Support Mission for “Agricultural Productivity and Nutrition Improvement Project

Within the period from May 10 to 18, 2018 the Fourth Implementation Support Mission for “Agricultural Productivity and Nutrition Improvement Project” will be held.

The main purpose of the Mission is holding the Fourth Implementation Support Mission for “Agricultural Productivity and Nutrition Improvement Project” (APNIP). The Word Bank team will also provide support to the Department of Water Resources and Land Improvement (DWRLI) to speed-up the project implementation, which is behind of schedule. The World Bank team will work with DWRLI to ensure the implementation of plans for the design, procurement and execution of civil works for the rehabilitation of irrigation infrastructure according to schedule, approved by during the last Mission in November 2017.

The Mission team will include: Mr. David Meerbach – Task Team Leader, senior water resources specialist, Mr. Talaibek Koshmatov senior agricultural specialist, Task Team co-leader, Ms. Asel Sargaldakova – senior health specialist, Ms. Berina Uvimbabazi – senior water resources specialist, Mr. Caesar Niculescu – senior environmental protection specialist, he will be working remotely, Ms. Irina Goncharova – procurement specialist, Mr. Garik Sergeyan – senior financial management specialist, Mr. Ghazi al Yakelani – civil engineer/consultant, Mr. David Lugg – agronomist, he will be working remotely, Ms. Umit Ukaeva – agricultural economist/consultant, Mr. German Kust, environmental specialist/consultant and Ms. Natalya Iosipenko – senior program assistant. Mr. David Michaud – Global water practice manager and Mr. Abdulkhamid Azad, a leading water resources specialist will also join to the World Bank team within the period from May 10 to 14, 2018 and will discuss issues related to the water sector reforms, which was held under the “National Water Resources Management Project Phase 1” (NWRMP).

The results of the Mission’s work, as well as further steps in project implementation will be further published on the project website upon Mission completion.
