First harvest

Members of self-help groups from the southern regions participating in the APNIP project continue to study remotely in agricultural techniques for growing vegetables.

In May, women covered topics about the properties of varieties and hybrids, about the relationship of the cultivated crop with the environment, about the features of care and watering.

A total of 712 farmers-members of training groups, of which 701 women, took part in the discussions, covered topics, exchanged photos and videos from their plots, received comments from the supervising trainers-consultants of the Agricultural Consulting Service of Jalal-Abad.

Participants of the 3-year project received the first harvest of cucumbers. In connection with the pandemic and measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, farmers from self-help groups are being trained through video lessons specially prepared by trainers-consultants of training companies.
