International conference dedicated to the World Family Doctors Day and 20th anniversary of Family Practice in the Kyrgyzstan

From May 17-18, 2018 a two-day International conference dedicated to the World Family Doctors Day and the 20th anniversary of Family Practice in Kyrgyzstan was held in our country with the participation of local family practice specialists and international experts in this area.

The conference motto is “Family Doctors-Leaders on the way to better health”, which emphasizes the leading role of family doctors in achieving better health for every member of society.

The first day of the conference was held in the assembly hall of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I. K. Akhunbayev. At this conference, the management of the Ministry of Health, KSMA and its subdivisions, as well as guests from abroad have made a speech.

The second day of the conference was held in the conference hall of the sanatorium “Kyrgyz seaside/Kyrgyz Vzmorje” in Issyk-Kul. It was in Issyk-Kul that the development of family practice in Kyrgyzstan was started 20 years ago. On this occasion, a special plenary session was organized to discuss global issues in this area, as well as to conduct master classes for family doctors and students.

Saikal Bozova – Component 3 Nutrition improvement Coordinator, has participated in this conference on behalf of “Agricultural Productivity and Nutrition Improvement Project”. She made a presentation on the ongoing activities of Component 3 “Nutrition improvements” within which a training for health workers will be conducted under the project, in selected 60 ayil aimaks to improve knowledge and skills on providing consultations on nutrition and prevention of anemia in order to improve the quality of medical services at the level of the Family Practice Centers, FDG, Feldsher and accoucheur points to children, adolescent girls, women of reproductive age, pregnant and lactating women. In addition, a poster presentation of the project was presented for the participants of the activity, which reflects the objectives and tasks, as well as all activities of the project.
